Because lupus is an invisible illness with a wide range of symptoms that mimic so many other conditions, this great imitator leaves those who treat it and suffer from it quite “Puzzled”. The “Butterfly” is the symbol used to represent lupus . Just like the fluttering of the butterfly; lupus is erratic. Taking dips and dives that almost look out of control but their strength of resilience is undeniable. As the butterfly develops within its cocoon, so shall those with lupus emerge from the confines of this disease.

ABOUT US

Puzzled Butterfly is located in New Braunfels, Texas, we serve Central Texas and beyond. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for lupus patients and their loved ones by providing support, educational outreach services, and promoting programs of awareness and encouraging self-advocacy. We understand the isolation and fear lupus patients often feel when they are first diagnosed. We also recognize the impact the disease can have on other family members. Our education and support programs are designed to empower patients to actively participate in their own health care to hopefully improve disease outcome and enhance their quality of life.

We are a completely volunteer run organization and provide the following services:

Our Mission

To provide services using a holistic approach in order to improve the mental, physical and spiritual health of newly diagnosed individuals and their caregivers to help them transition and cope living with lupus.

Our Vision

To implement programs for people afflicted by lupus, promoting public awareness through education and outreach unmasking the devastation of this puzzling disease. To empower patients to actively participate in their own health care in order to improve disease outcome and enhance their quality of life .
